NPP repair campaign to have minimal impact on electricity consumers – Energoatom

KYIV. May 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom has announced the start of a repair campaign for nuclear power plants and said that it would have a minimal impact on consumers.

“The [repair campaign] schedule was drawn up by Energoatom experts and synchronized with the Ministry of Energy and other generating companies so that consumers do not feel the impact of the repair campaign,” the company said on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to the report, Energoatom expects to compensate for the lack of electricity due to repairs and reloading nuclear power units with fresh nuclear fuel by turning on thermal power plants and importing electricity.

In addition, generation from renewable sources will grow.

“Therefore, the repair campaign, although extremely difficult, will take place with minimal challenges for the power system and Ukrainians,” Energoatom said.

As reported earlier, the Ministry of Energy denied information in the media about the planned power outage schedules soon.
