KYIV. May 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainians have already received 1,000 loans totaling UAH 1.3 billion under the state program of affordable mortgage lending eOselia, Deputy Economy Minister Oleksandr Hryban has said.
“Some 1,000 loans worth UAH 1.3 billion have already been issued. In principle, this is not much, but it’s already a start,” he said at the Architecture and Construction Business Forum in Kyiv on Thursday.
According to the program coordinator, the Ukrainian Financial Housing company, in a press release, out of 1,017 concessional loans, some 835 were received by military personnel and security forces, some 93 by doctors, some 78 by teachers, some 11 by scientists.
According to it, since the beginning of May, partner banks have issued 57 loans for UAH 83.5 million.
The program of affordable mortgage lending eOselia has been operating since October 2022. Contract servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and employees of the security and defense sector, medical workers, teachers, and researchers can apply for a preferential mortgage at 3% per annum.
According to the Economy Ministry, already this year it is planned to increase the list of categories of citizens who will be able to receive a loan for their own housing. They will be able to take out a loan to purchase housing at 7% per annum. The government plans to make this program permanent.
