KYIV. May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The production of beer in Ukraine (except non-alcoholic with an alcohol content of up to 0.5% by volume) in January-April 2023 grew by 35.3% compared to the same period in 2022, to 38.1 million decalitres, Ukrpyvo, the sector organization of brewers, reported on its website.
In the first four months of 2023, 85,850 tonnes of malt were produced in Ukraine, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period of 2022.
As reported, beer production in Ukraine in 2022 decreased by 27.9% compared to 2021, to 122.8 million decaliters.
Ukrpyvo said that by the end of 2022, the brewing industry had partially recovered after a 50% drop in the first quarter due to the Russian invasion and the shutdown of some breweries.
