KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has allocated UAH 917 million to support 13,960 agricultural producers who have applied for government assistance in the State Agrarian Register (SAR), the ministry’s website reported on Monday.
At the same time, it is specified that, in particular, UAH 769 million of subsidies will be received by 10,590 participants in the state assistance program per unit of cultivated agricultural land, processing a total of 248,000 hectares, and 3,360 farmers will receive UAH 148 million of subsidies for the maintenance of 27,860 cows of all areas of productivity.
The ministry recalled that in early September it announced a program to support producers of agricultural products in two areas: the first – for farmers who cultivate 1-120 hectares of agricultural land (payment of UAH 3,100 per 1 ha), and the second – for those who keep from three up to 100 cows (payment of UAH 5,300 per cow).
According to it, the ministry is processing more than 15,000 applications, not counting those already approved for payment. At the same time, registration for state support has been suspended until the processing of received applications is completed and the balance of funds for the payment of subsidies is determined.
The SAR is an automated electronic system available to all agricultural producers, regardless of the form of management. With the help of the register, it is planned to provide public services, simplify access to bank financing and loan guarantee programs, as well as introduce targeted government support programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
The project is being implemented in coordination with the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, the Ministry of Justice and with the assistance of the World Bank and EU project Supporting Transparent Land Governance in Ukraine, as well as the USAID Agriculture and Rural Empowerment Program.
