KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The enterprises of the Agrain agricultural holding are completing soil preparation for sowing the 2024 crop, 35,500 hectares will be allocated for winter crops, the press service of the group has reported.
“Traditional crops for us are wheat, barley and rapeseed. The sowing of winter rapeseed in Kharkiv region has already been completed and it has begun in Odesa region. In total, an area of 5,100 hectares was allocated for this crop. At the same time, we started sowing winter wheat in Chernihiv region, where they increased the sowing area by 54%. In total, 25,000 hectares were allocated for wheat,” the holding said in the report.
Agrain is engaged in the cultivation and storage of grain and oilseeds, and animal husbandry. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, the agricultural holding included 11 agricultural enterprises, it cultivated about 110,000 hectares in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Odesa and Cherkasy regions. The owner of the holding is SAS Investcompagnie (France).
