Air defense forces down 73 of more than 90 enemy missiles, all ten Shahed drones – Ihnat

KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Tuesday, the Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine with more than 90 cruise missiles and ten kamikaze drones, 73 missiles and all drones were shot down, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command Yuriy Ihnat has said.

"More than 90 missiles were fired [by the enemy] today. In addition, according to the latest updates, ten Shahed kamikaze drones were launched. All ten were destroyed in southern Ukraine by the Pivden air command. And we have good air defense results… We shot down 73 of more than 90 missiles. This is a fairly decent result," he said on air of the national telethon on Tuesday.

Ihnat also noted that the invaders "surpassed" their attack on October 10 when 84 cruise missiles were fired at Ukraine, adding that 45 missiles were downed them. The next day, 20 of 28 missiles were destroyed, and on October 31, when the German Iris-T systems were already operating in the air defense system, 45 of 55 enemy missiles were shot down. On Tuesday, in addition to Iris-T, the attack of the invaders was also repelled by the recently received Norwegian NASAMS systems.

"(NASAMS) have passed their first baptism of fire, and we have the first results of the work of these systems. Frankly speaking, we need more, because we want to achieve better results. And western weapons work very effectively. Therefore, we will again ask our partners to strengthen this assistance to us," Ihnat said.
