Akhmetov again tops rating of richest businessmen in Ukraine with $4.4 bln fortune – Forbes Ukraine

KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Rinat Akhmetov with fortune of $4.4 billion topped the rating of the richest businessmen in Ukraine, according to the Forbes Ukraine website.

According to the rating, Akhmetov’s fortune in 2022 dropped from $13.7 billion to $4.4 billion. His largest assets are the Metinvest company and the DTEK group. The agricultural, energy and metallurgical business of Akhmetov suffered from the war, in particular, the Azovstal and Illich Iron and Steel Works in Mariupol were lost.

The second and third places were taken by the co-founders of the Grammarly IT company Maksym Litvin and Oleksiy Shevchenko. During the war, everyone’s fortune dropped from $4 billion to $2.3 billion.

Next in the ranking is Victor Pinchuk, whose capital has fell from $2.6 to $2.2 billion. His fortune is provided by Interpipe, real estate and cash, Forbes said.

The top five of the richest is closed by Kostiantyn Zhevaho. His fortune sank from $2.1 billion to $1.4 billion. His largest asset is Ferrexpo.

The ranking also includes co-founders of the Epicenter K group Oleksandr and Halyna Hereha ($1.2 billion), co-owner of the Revolut fintech startup Vlad Yatsenko ($1.1 billion), owner of Smart-Holding Vadim Novinsky ($1 billion), Hennadiy Boholiubov ($1 billion) and Sergiy Tigipko ($870 million).

The publication said that Ihor Kolomoisky, who last year ranked 4th in the ranking of the richest businessmen, was not included in the list in 2022 due to his loss of Ukrainian citizenship.
