Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Aurum Group, a diversified industrial and investment group, estimates the losses of its agricultural business in Zaporizhia and Kharkiv regions from the full-scale Russian invasion at UAH 430 million, all 12,000 ha of the holding’s land bank is still under Russian occupation
According to the group’s website, after the de-occupation of the country from the Russian invaders, Aurum Group will need at least 1.5 years to resume the work of its agrarian sector.
"The destruction of machinery, equipment, mine contamination, shell damage, theft of agricultural products – all these are enormous losses for business and the country. The demining process has many legal aspects and requires a lot of money and effort. According to the best forecasts, we will be able to return to normal work not earlier than one and a half to two years after the de-occupation of the territories where our enterprises are located," CEO of the holding Andriy Zhariy said.
Aurum Group recalled that before the war, its agricultural business was engaged in the cultivation of traditional and niche crops.
The group also cites data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, according to which the Russians destroyed almost a quarter of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Direct and indirect losses in agriculture exceeded $40 billion, of which $6.6 billion were direct losses.
Aurum Group was registered at the end of 2016. The key areas are mechanical engineering, rail freight transportation, industrial pump building, investment in real estate and the agricultural sector, and the restaurant business.
Aurum Group in the direction of transportation manages, in particular, the companies Aurum Trans, Trans Energy, in car building and repair – Agregatbud, Diesel Plant, industrial pump building – Svesky pump plant, real estate – Ukrkomplekt Plus.
In a commentary to the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the group clarified that its chemical business in Rubizhne (Leaseinvest company, Luhansk region) was completely destroyed.
