Azerbaijan boosts oil imports 12-fold in Jan-Oct

BAKU. Dec 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Azerbaijan imported 360,244 tonnes of oil in January-October 2022, up 12.1-fold from the same period of 2021, the Azerbaijani government told Interfax.

The value of the oil imported in January-October totaled $259.3 million, up 18.2-fold from the year before.

Kazakhstan supplied 95,634 tonnes of oil to Azerbaijan in January-October 2022 for $62.3 million, while 180,224 tonnes of oil came from Turkmenistan for $133 million and 84,385 tonnes from Russia for $64 million.

Azerbaijan only imported oil from Turkmenistan in 2021 at 89,738 tonnes, half that of 2022. Imports fell 10.4% in monetary terms to $52.5 million.
