Azerbaijan supplied almost 20 bcm of gas to Europe in two years – energy minister

BAKU. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Azerbaijan has supplied over 19.4 bcm of natural gas to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline since December 31, 2020, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.

"Two years have passed since the beginning of Azerbaijani gas supply to Europe via TAP. More than 19.4 bcm of gas have been supplied to Europe over this period," Shahbazov said on Twitter on Saturday.

Gas supply to Europe – Italy, Greece and Bulgaria – began on December 31, 2020. The deliveries stood at 8.2 bcm in 2021 and are expected to reach 22 bcm – 23 bcm, including 11.3 bcm supplied to Europe, in 2022. Azerbaijan plans to deliver 24 bcm of gas in 2024, including at least 11.6 bcm to Europe.
