KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna has said that, based on the recommendations of the European Commission, Ukraine will prepare a National Program on Preparation for Accession to the European Union (EU).
“Yesterday, immediately after the report was handed over to the president, a decree was signed that determines the next steps,” Stefanishyna said at a press conference on Thursday in Kyiv.
According to her, the report concerns not only seven criteria and includes recommendations for expansion, but also consists of 150 pages of assessment of Ukraine as a country from the point of view of the functioning of institutions.
“On the basis of this document, a negotiation framework will be formed on both sides… Based on this document, we will prepare a national program for preparing for accession to the European Union. This is already an order of the president. We will update it every year, taking into account the progress and dynamics of the negotiations,” the deputy prime minister said.
