KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s state budget deficit in October 2023 reached UAH 98.4 billion, compared to UAH 87.0 billion in September and UAH 130.7 billion in August, the Ministry of Finance reported on its website on Thursday.
The general fund deficit grew to UAH 87.7 billion from UAH 85.6 billion in September, although this is much less than UAH 122.2 billion in August.
The Ministry of Finance, citing operational data from the State Treasury, indicated that cash expenditures of the state budget in October fell significantly – to UAH 292.1 billion after a jump to UAH 444.8 billion in September from UAH 310.1 billion in August.
In the general fund, they decreased slightly – to UAH 228.1 billion from UAH 230.2 billion in September and UAH 248.2 billion in August.
As the Ministry of Finance said, in October 2023, receipts to the general fund of the state budget fell to UAH 139.4 billion from UAH 144.1 billion in September and UAH 124.7 billion in August, while U.S. grant international assistance totaled UAH 42 billion compared to UAH 45.7 billion in September after a month-long break in August.
In general, in January-October this year, cash expenditures of the state budget reached UAH 3.114 trillion, including the general fund – UAH 2.346 trillion, or 95.1% of the total, compared to 93% a month earlier. State budget receipts in the first nine months came to UAH 2.206 trillion, including the general fund – UAH 1.414 trillion, of which UAH 404.9 billion was international grant assistance (UAH 398.5 billion from the United States).
In the first 10 months, the state budget had a deficit of UAH 900.0 billion, including UAH 923.1 billion for the general fund versus the planned general fund deficit of UAH 1.478 trillion.
