Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods increases by 2.6 times for ten months – statistics

KYIV. Dec 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January-October 2022 increased by 2.6 times compared to the same period in 2021 – to $7.050 billion from $2.691 billion, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to its data, the export of goods from Ukraine for the reporting period compared with January-October 2021 decreased by 32.3% – to $36.859 billion, imports – by 23.2%, to $43.909 billion.

The State Statistics Service specified that in October this year, compared to September, the seasonally adjusted volume of exports decreased by 3.5%, to $3.654 billion, while imports increased by 7.4%, to $4.788 billion.

The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in October 2022 was negative and amounted to $1.135 billion, while in September 2022 it was also negative and amounted to $672 million.

The export-to-import coverage ratio in January-October 2022 amounted to 0.84 (in January-October 2021 – 0.95).

The State Statistics Service specified that foreign trade operations were carried out with partners from 230 countries of the world.
