KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Initial registrations of new commercial vehicles in Ukraine (trucks and special vehicles) dropped by 17% in October compared to September of this year – to 510 vehicles, which is also 63% less than in October 2021, the Ukrautoprom association reported.
According to a report on the association’s website, the best result was shown by the German brand Mercedes-Benz with 82 vehicles, which is 34% more than in October last year.
In second place is Renault with 76 vehicles (51% less compared to October 2021), Fiat has the third result with 60 vehicles (57% less).
The top five rating of brands also included Volvo with 53 vehicles (13% more) and DAF with 36 vehicles (260% more).
As reported, in October 2021, 1,392 commercial vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 11.4% more than in October 2020, and the top five included Citroen, Renault, Fiat, Volkswagen and MAZ (Mercedes ranked 6th) .
According to Ukrautoprom, in total, 5,400 new commercial vehicles were registered in Ukraine in January-October, which is 56.5% less than in the same period in 2021.
In turn, according to the information published on the website of the information and analytical group AUTO-Consulting, in the segment of trucks with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes, sales in October fell by only 20% compared to October 2021, to almost 300 vehicles.
"That is, the truck market continues to recover," the experts said.
According to them, the first seven positions in the ranking are occupied by European cars, and Chinese manufacturers have not yet been able to replace the Belarusian MAZ in all segments.
According to the results of January-October, traders sold almost 1,800 new trucks in Ukraine, which is 37% less than in the same period in 2021.
