Electricity deficit still significant, due to exceeded limits, emergency outages introduced in several regions, Kyiv

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of December 26, the capacity deficit in the power system remains significant, emergency power outages have been introduced in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv regions and Kyiv city due to exceeding consumption limits, NPC Ukrenergo reported.

In the company’s daily update on the Telegram channel, it is noted that due to the scale and complexity of the damage, the restoration of equipment and a number of key facilities requires considerable time.

"Repair work continues at generating facilities and power grids damaged as a result of nine massive Russian attacks," the company said.

At the same time, they indicated that there are risks of repeated attacks on power grids and power plants, given the enemy’s intentions to deprive Ukraine of electricity.

"We are ready for any scenarios and in any conditions to resume the operation of the power system," Ukrenergo stressed.
