KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Commission on Environmental Safety, Manmade Disaster and Emergency Response discussed the sustainability of the transport infrastructure, fuel and energy complex and the conduct of the 2023-2024 heating season.
“To counter the threats of the autumn-winter period in conditions of martial law, together with local authorities and international partners, the capabilities of the State Emergency Service to eliminate the consequences of hostilities have been increased. The units have been supplemented with modern models of technology and equipment. In addition, in pursuance of the decisions of the government and the Minister of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service conducted a special training, during which, in particular, the deployment of more than 1,200 points of invincibility was ensured, of which over 770 were stationary based at State Emergency Service facilities, 360 mobile ones with tents and 90 based on vehicles,” the government press service says based on the results of the commission meeting.
In turn, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the National Police, was instructed to determine at the legislative level a list of critical infrastructure facilities that are subject to protection in emergency situations in the field of physical protection of critical infrastructure facilities.
Among other things, the meeting addressed the issue of the status of hazardous waste management, including unsuitable for use and prohibited use of plant protection chemicals.
