KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of 2023, the state-owned enterprise Energoatom has completed 11 out of 17 planned activities as part of the implementation of the comprehensive (consolidated) program for increasing the safety level of power units of nuclear power plants in Ukraine.
As the company reported on its Telegram channel, 12 partial activities were also completed ahead of schedule.
“Energoatom will continue to work on the implementation of all measures despite wartime, because the reliable operation of domestic nuclear power plants is the key to the stability of the Ukrainian power system,” the company said.
The program is being implemented with the aim of increasing the level of operational safety of power units and the reliability of their operation, reducing the risks of emergencies at nuclear power plants and increasing the efficiency of accident management.
In total, the program contains 1,295 activities, of which 1,091 have already been completed.
Before the program is fully implemented, Energoatom has 204 activities left to complete, of which 36 are co-financed by EBRD/Euratom loan funds.
