ENTSO-E First President Dobbeni heads Ukrenergo Supervisory Board

KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Supervisory Board of PrJSC NPC Ukrenergo, which has remained without a chairman since its approval in December 2021, has been headed by independent member Daniel Dobbeni, the company has said.

As the company said on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, the supervisory board of Ukrenergo made such a decision on August 28.

“The Ukrenergo Board welcomes the election of Daniel Dobbeni as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. His professional experience will be very useful for the company’s strategic development,” Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Chairman of the Ukrenergo Board, said, commenting on the appointment.

He added that Ukrenergo highly appreciates the principles of corporate governance, impartial independent activity of the Supervisory Board and its constructive role in the company’s passing through the current difficult trials and challenges.

Ukrenergo said that Dobbeni has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. In 2008, he became the first President of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO‐E). He was President of the German TSO 50Hertz GmbH and Vice-President and President of the GO15 association. From 2003 to 2012, he served as CEO of Elia Group, a Belgian-German transmission system operator.

As reported, early December 2021, the Ministry of Energy approved the entire composition of the company’s Supervisory Board. Dejan Ostojic, Peder Ostermark Andreasen, Daniel Dobbeni, Roman Pionkowski – independent members, Yuriy Tokarsky, Mykhailo Ilnytsky, Yuriy Boiko – representatives of the state became members of the Supervisory Board.

In April 2022, the Ministry of Energy terminated the powers of Dejan Ostojic, an independent member of the Supervisory Board, in connection with his application. Prior to this, on January 6, 2022, the Ministry of Energy terminated the powers of Mykhailo Ilnytsky, a member of the Supervisory Board, appointing Oleksandr Baraniuk instead.
