KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Sales of generators in the Epicenter shopping center network grew by 80% in August compared to the same period last year, and sales of portable charging stations rose by 25 times, the network’s press service has reported.
According to the report, the most popular among buyers are household gasoline generators and units with a capacity of 2.5-3 kW. At the same time, this year sales of more powerful generators of 4.5-5 kW have increased sevenfold.
Despite the increase in demand, a significant shortage of such products is not expected, according to Epicenter. In addition, prices today are significantly lower than in the last autumn-winter period, when the rise in prices was influenced by shortages of goods and problems with logistics.
“In the spring of this year, when direct deliveries from China began to Ukraine and the market was saturated with goods, prices also fell and remain stable even now, when we are again recording an increase in sales. Considering the saturation of the market with goods, we believe there are no now preconditions for a significant increase in prices for energy generating. However, in conditions of the full-scale war, the situation in the country can change quickly,” Director of the Autogroup and Tools department of the Epicenter network Olha Yuschenko was quoted in the report.
The company also noted an increase in sales volumes of dryers for fruits and vegetables, which may indicate the desire of Ukrainians to stock up on shelf-stable food products.
In addition, as the weather gets colder, sales of electric blankets are expected to increase, following the example of last year, the network said.

Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the Epicenter network united more than 80 shopping centers in all regions of the country.
