PARIS. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s application for EU membership will be discussed by the heads of state and government of the countries of the bloc in June, the French Foreign Ministry has said on Thursday.
"Ukraine’s request to join the EU will be the point of discussion at the level of heads of state and government during the meeting of the European Council in June," a representative of the French Foreign Ministry said, whose words are published on the website of the agency. This meeting, according to the schedule of EU events, will take place on June 23 and 24.
He also reiterated the words of French President Emmanuel Macron and Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian that "Ukraine is part of the European family."
