KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Board of Directors of the European Steel Association (EUROFER) on November 22 of this year unanimously voted to introduce the Association of Enterprises Ukrmetalurgprom into its composition as a new associated member.
According to a press release from Ukrmetalurgprom on Friday, Ukrainian metallurgists will now have the opportunity to directly participate in the activities of the European metallurgical community, which will significantly speed up the process of integration of Ukrainian enterprises into European industrial chains.
It is clarified that EUROFER (European Steel Association) is an association of European producers of cast iron and steel. EUROFER includes 35 steel companies and 14 national steel associations of the European Union, as well as five non-EU companies and associations as associate members. EUROFER participants include world metallurgical leaders ArcelorMittal, Thyssenkrupp, Voestalpine, CELSA Group and others. EUROFER’s share of global steel production is approximately 9%.
Since the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, EUROFER has supported Ukraine in its fight against the occupiers.
Ukrmetalurgprom became the sixth associated member of EUROFER.
