France intends to transfer Bastion light tanks, APCs to Ukraine – Zelensky's talk with Macron

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, during which they discussed issues of cooperation in the process of strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system.

"Had a long and detailed conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron on the current situation," Zelensky said on Twitter.

The head of state said that during the conversation he thanked Macron "for the decision to transfer light tanks and Bastion APCs [armored personnel carriers] to Ukraine, as well as for intensifying work with partners in the same direction."

The Ukrainian president said that during the conversation, the interlocutors also agreed on further cooperation to significantly strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and other defense capabilities.

"We also agreed to work on the implementation of Peace Formula," Zelensky said.
