By TBILISI. Nov 25 (Interfax) – Electricity production in Georgia increased 23% year-on-year in January-September 2022 to approximately 11 billion kilowatt-hours, Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Levan Davitashvili told journalists.
The government is giving a great deal of attention to achieving energy security and is striving not only for self-sufficiency in electricity, but also plans to boost exports, Davitashvili said. Georgia exported 990 million kWh in January-September 2022, a record for recent years. Supplies went mainly to Turkey.
