Govt approves strategy for development of territories in exclusion zone, zone of unconditional resettlement for 2024-2032

KYIV. Jan 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers approved the strategy for the development of territories in the exclusion zone and the zone of unconditional resettlement for 2024-2032.

As Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, reported on his Telegram channel, the decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.

In particular, the strategy is aimed at identifying promising areas for the effective use of territories in the exclusion zone and the resettled part of the zone of unconditional (mandatory) resettlement, searching and implementing innovative solutions for the development of territories for special industrial use while complying with nuclear and radiation safety requirements, compliance with biological and genetic measures safety when studying the restoration of wildlife in radiation-contaminated areas.

In addition, the document involves supporting the environmentally safe and fire-safe condition of radiation-contaminated areas, improving protective barriers, conducting comprehensive radiation-ecological monitoring, and promoting the creation of investment opportunities.

An action plan to implement the strategy for 2024-2026 was also approved.
