Govt raises limit of portfolio state guarantees to state banks by almost UAH 3 bln at expense of other banks

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The government of Ukraine has allocated an additional UAH 2.91 billion in state guarantees to six banks participating in the program of lending under government guarantees on a portfolio basis, including UAH 2.83 billion to four state-owned banks, by reducing state guarantees to non-state banks.

According to the document, the limits for Oschadbank and PrivatBank were increased by UAH 795 million, for Ukrgasbank by UAH 615.9 million and for Ukreximbank by UAH 620.9 million.

In addition, Poltava-Bank was included in the program for the first time – UAH 60 million and Asvio Bank received UAH 25 million.

At the same time, the limit of state guarantees to ProCredit Bank was reduced by UAH 900 million, to TAScombank by UAH 500 million, to Kredobank by UAH 250 million, to OTP Bank by UAH 245 million, to Credit-Dnipro Bank and Raiffeisen Bank by UAH 150 million, FUIB – by UAH 140 million.

In addition, the limits for a dozen more banks were reduced in smaller volumes, and Pivdenny (UAH 26 million), Ukrconstinvestbank (UAH 8 million) and A-Bank (UAH 7 million) were excluded from the 2022 program.

As reported, as of November 1, 2022, some 27 banks serviced 15,240 loans under the program of state guarantees on a portfolio basis in the amount of UAH 49.04 billion. Principal obligations partially secured by government guarantees on a portfolio basis amounted to UAH 29.21 billion, which is 83% of the total guarantee limit (UAH 35.014 billion).
