Govt to suspend special duty on import of PVC raw materials for production of windows during war – ministry

KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will suspend the special customs duty on the import of PVC raw materials during martial law to stabilize the window market in Ukraine, the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade has taken the corresponding decision.

"Now we have a duty in favor of the national manufacturer Karpatnaftochim. But after the outbreak of the war, this enterprise does not work. Considering the great demand for window products, we propose, temporarily, while the war is going on, to stop this special duty," Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said.

According to him, this will saturate and stabilize the market for window products, where there is great demand.

Kachka also clarified that in the event that production of windows by the national manufacturer resumes, the special duty will be returned.

According to the ministry, it was decided to terminate the anti-dumping investigation on imported PVC profiles, regardless of the country of origin, due to the expiration of the deadline for such an investigation.
