Grain transportation by rail in Ukraine may be simplified as early as Nov – Ukrzaliznytsia

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia expects the publication of order No. 778 of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and Infrastructure, which will simplify the requirements for the transportation of goods, in particular grain, said Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work Valeriy Tkachev at a meeting with the grain business.

“In the rules for accepting cargo, 11 sections will be cancelled. Acceptance of cargo will be significantly facilitated and simplified. The shipper will be able to independently determine in which rolling stock to carry the cargo and much more,” Tkachev said.

According to him, the document will allow, when transporting grain cargo in unsuitable rolling stock, as well as when transporting containers with an external door on a platform, not to pay for additional services for transportation under special conditions.

The order was registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on October 19, 2023. Ukrzaliznytsia expects the document to be published on November 20, when it will come into force.
