By KYIV. Sept 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC (GTSOU) has completed work to prepare for the heating season according to a number of planned indicators, including major repairs of the linear part of pipelines.
“In addition, certain activities on the linear part of the main gas pipelines and at gas distribution stations (GDS) were completed at a level of 90% and above, namely, 641.6 km of the pipeline cavity was cleaned, reconstruction and repair of 168 GDS and 739 automatic control and alarm systems were carried out at the gas transmission system,” the company said in a press release on Tuesday.
As the GTSOU said, in parallel with preparations for the heating season, the company’s divisions are participating in eliminating the consequences of Russian aggression in the de-occupied East, performing work to restore access to hydraulic structures damaged by the occupiers shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.
In the future, as the front moves and the de-occupation of populated areas progresses, preparations for the fall-winter season of facilities in the liberated territories will be separately coordinated.
“We constantly cooperate with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service and local military-civil administrations in order to gain access to facilities damaged by the occupiers and resume their work. We are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of the coming winter on the everyday life of Ukrainians,” chief engineer of GTSOU Yuriy Ziabchenko is quoted in the press release.
