KYIV. Oct 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The HarvEast agricultural holding has completed sowing winter rapeseed and wheat for the 2024 harvest, but will be forced to replant a third of the area due to drought in September, HarvEast CEO Dmytro Skorniakov said on Facebook.
In the comments, he wrote that few winter crops were sown, since the work was carried out in early September, and then it was dry. Speaking about the areas that will need to be reseeded, Skorniakov said that “a third was written off immediately,” the rest are in good condition.
According to the CEO, company specialists continue to harvest corn and sunflowers.
“Ukraine’s agricultural industry is facing big changes, both due to low domestic prices and due to joining the EU. We are preparing as always: improving processes, increasing efficiency, saving,” Skorniakov added.
