By KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Customs Service of Ukraine has granted authorization for the guarantee exemption to PJSC JT International, the company was the first to receive such a status, the service reports.
According to a press release from the State Customs Service, the presence of such authorization gives the right not to provide a guarantee for the payment of customs duties (a document from the guarantor, a cash deposit) in cases where the law provides for such a guarantee.
It is clarified that the norms of the Customs Code of Ukraine provide: if an enterprise has valid authorization of an authorized economic operator (AEO), a self-assessment questionnaire is not submitted, and an assessment of compliance with the criteria and conditions for authorization to apply simplifications may not be carried out.
The State Customs Service indicated that the guarantee exemption was an addition to the already existing advantages that the company enjoys: reduction by the risk management system of forms and volumes of customs control in the implementation of customs clearance of goods, the implementation of customs formalities as a matter of priority.
"Since PJSC JTI Ukraine is an AEO, the granting of authorization for the guarantee exemption was carried out according to a simplified procedure and in the shortest possible time," the message says.
The State Customs Service noted that if enterprises do not have AEO authorization, they have the right to obtain authorization to apply simplifications after an appropriate assessment. And since the criteria and conditions for granting authorizations to apply simplifications and AEO authorizations are mostly identical, it will be good practice for enterprises to have authorizations to apply simplifications in the future.
