KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The JYSK international chain on Thursday opened the largest store in Odesa in the Fontan Sky shopping center (4, Semaforny Lane), the retailer’s press service reported.
“The store in Odesa became the third updated in the last three months out of 12 planned for the 24th fiscal year. JYSK consistently invests in the development of the Ukrainian network. Agreements have already been concluded and renovations of stores are planned for the coming months in Zhytomyr (shopping center Global UA), Odesa (shopping center CITYCENTER on Tairovo), Kyiv (Retail Park Pochaina), two stores in Lviv in the VAM shopping center and in Sakharov Street. By the way, the last store will be rebuilt in the new Store Concept 3.0 Compact format. Negotiations are underway to expand and rebuild the store in Poltava,” JYSK Country Director in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanitsa said on Linkedin.
The new store is located on the second floor of the main building of the shopping center. Its retail area is 1,514 square meters with a warehouse. The store is the largest store of the chain in Odesa, and also has an XL format, which allows to display products that are not presented in regular stores.
Like all new or renovated JYSK stores, it is built in accordance with the modern concept of the 3.0 chain, with modern track lighting and a spacious design, more comfortable zonal placement of product categories, in particular a spacious mattress studio, etc. Ergonomics for staff have also been improved – the warehouse area is larger, the social area and technical rooms are more spacious.
The company said that by the end of the calendar year it is planned to open three new stores in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
Currently, there are 89 JYSK stores and an online store jysk.ua operating in Ukraine. The company said that in the current financial year, which began in September, it plans to open 11 more new stores and upgrade another eight stores to the modern 3.0 concept. JYSK has over 800 employees in the country.
