Kazakhstan boosts international reserves 1.3% MoM in Oct

ALMATY. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kazakhstan’s international reserves, including gross reserves of the National Bank and the assets of the National Fund, totaled $85.353 billion as at October 31, 2022, an increase of 1.3% month-on-month and a decline of 4.8% since the beginning of the year, the National Bank said in a statement.

The National Fund’s assets totaled $52.385 billion at the end of October 2022, a rise of 1.51% month-on-month and a decrease of 5.31% since January 1, 2022.

The National Bank’s gross international reserves totaled $32.968 billion as at October 31, 2022, an increase of 1.01% month-on-month and a drop of 4.1% since the beginning of the year. The bank’s net international reserves totaled $30.993 billion, growth of 0.72% month-on-month and a decline of 4.15% since the beginning of the year.

Currency assets rose 5.02% month-on-month to $12.730 billion in October this year, a rise of 17.53% since the beginning of the year. Gold assets totaled $20.238 billion as at October 31, 2022, a decrease of 1.36% month-on-month and 14.05% since the beginning of the year.

The official exchange rate as at November 9, 2022, is 464.01 tenge/$1.
