KSG Agro leases plant in Dnipropetrovsk region to increase sunflower oil exports to EU

KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural holding KSG Agro has leased an oil extraction plant in Dniprovsky district of Dnipropetrovsk region to produce first-pressed sunflower oil from its own raw materials.

As reported in a press release from the agricultural holding on Friday, the resulting crude sunflower oil will be exported to the EU countries by road.

It is clarified that the capacities of the leased oil extraction plant allow monthly processing of 2,500 tonnes of sunflower seeds into 1,000 tonnes of sunflower oil. The plant team consists of 30 people. Production is equipped with modern Ukrainian-made equipment manufactured in 2008.

The agricultural holding recalled that after the start of a full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine, it began exporting rapeseed and sunflower oil to Poland, Slovakia and Italy. In addition, pilot deliveries of sunflower oil to Poland and Italy have begun with the help of flexitanks – polymer containers designed to transport liquid cargo and installed on trucks.

The vertically integrated holding KSG Agro is engaged in pig breeding, as well as production, storage, processing and sale of grains and oilseeds. Its land bank is about 21,000 hectares.

According to the agricultural holding, it is in the top five pork producers in Ukraine.
