Kuleba: Latin America to be our priority this year

KYIV. Jan 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The next strategic document to be adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2023 will be the Latin American Strategy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"We have heard a signal from the Brazilian side, we will actively work with them. As well as with other countries of this region. In general, this year Latin America will be our priority. This is the last region of the world that we have not yet thoroughly ‘plowed,’" Kuleba said during an online briefing on Wednesday.

As the minister explained, the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Brazil, where the inauguration ceremony of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took place on January 1, indicates Ukraine’s interest in restarting the Ukrainian-Brazilian dialogue, providing an additional impetus to trade and economic relations.

Thus, Kuleba recalled that the Foreign Ministry already has the Asian Strategy and African Strategy, which are being implemented. The next strategic document to be adopted by the Foreign Ministry this year will be the Latin American Strategy, the minister stressed.

"This year you will see a powerful return of Ukraine to the space of South America. Follow the news, President Zelensky pays great attention to this issue," he added.
