Kyiv receives from Tampere three buses, humanitarian aid

KYIV. Jan 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv received from the Finnish city of Tampere three passenger buses which also delivered a batch of humanitarian aid collected for Kyiv by the municipal authorities of Tampere jointly with active citizens of Finland, the press service of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said.

"Many Ukrainians fleeing from the war found shelter in Tampere. The municipal authorities and residents of the Finnish city constantly send humanitarian aid to Kyiv. Today, we have received three passenger buses with humanitarian aid collected by our caring friends," Klitschko said.

"It is very important for us to ensure surface passenger transport services. I would like to recall that today buses operate on all trolleybus and tram routes of the capital. So, the received today assistance is an important contribution into ensuring surface public transport services in Kyiv," he said.

The humanitarian aid delivered by the buses includes items for Ukrainian servicemen, medicines, items necessary for newborn babies, etc.

Tampere is the first city with which Kyiv signed a twinning agreement back in 1954.
