Kyiv will allocate almost UAH 133 mln more for design of construction, repairs of shelters in educational institutions

KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Under the adopted amendments to the program for the economic and social development of the capital for 2021-2023, the deputies of Kyiv City Council will additionally allocate almost UAH 133 million for the current year for the design of construction and overhaul of civil protection structures in educational institutions in Kyiv, the department of economics and investments of Kyiv City State Administration reports.

“Thus, UAH 91 million will be allocated for the design of the construction of civil protection buildings in ten districts of the city. UAH 41.6 million will be allocated for the overhaul of existing shelters located in schools, kindergartens, hostels and vocational education institutions,” the report says.

In addition, Kyiv City Council increased funding for the Defender of Kyiv city target program for 2022-2024 by UAH 100 million. The department indicates that this will strengthen the defense capability and security of the capital.

As previously reported, in July, deputies of Kyiv City Council allocated UAH 61 million for the construction, reconstruction and restoration of shelter structures located in educational institutions in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, in March 2023, UAH 116 million was allocated for repairs in civil protection facilities in general secondary education institutions at the expense of a subvention from the state budget and corresponding co-financing from the budget of the capital.
