Kyivsky paper mill maintains slight drop in production volumes in Jan-Oct

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The volume of commercial output of Kyivsky Cardboard and Paper Mill (Obukhiv, Kyiv region), the industry leader in Ukraine in this indicator, in January-October 2022 amounted to UAH 5.896 billion, which is 4.2% less than for the same period in 2021.

According to the statistics of the UkrPapir association, provided to Interfax-Ukraine, thus, in terms of money, the plant retains a slight lag behind similar last year’s indicators (over nine months, it was 3.2%, eight – 4.8%).

At the same time, in quantity terms, output of all types of products shows a more significant decrease, in particular, base paper for sanitary and hygienic products by 32.6%, to 47,800 tonnes, and corrugated boxes – by 24.7%, to 154 .7 million square meters.

Output of cardboard decreased by 35%, to 126,400 tonnes, in particular, container (including corrugated paper) by 16.6%, to 100,500 tonnes, and boxboard by 2.9 times, to 25,800 tonnes.

Production of toilet paper in rolls over ten months decreased by 21.2%, to 273.2 million pieces. According to the association, in general, production of these products by industry enterprises decreased by 17.4%, to 476.5 million units.

According to the statistics of UkrPapir, in January-October, taking into account the fact that a number of industry enterprises were either destroyed, damaged or located in the occupied territory, production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 44% compared to the same period last year, to 415,800 tonnes, and corrugated packaging by 41.5%, to 364.2 million square meters.
