Kyivsky paper mill was first in Ukraine to launch production of thin paper for food sachets

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyivsky Cardboard and Paper Mill (Obukhiv, Kyiv region) has launched the production of thin white craft paper for the manufacture of sachets, which are used mainly for food packaging (baked goods, hot dogs, sandwiches, cakes), the company reported on Facebook on Monday.

According to the report, the first batch was manufactured in November.

"The choice of a new type of product is not accidental, because today the demand for such paper is high, but in our country it has not been produced by any enterprise in the industry. Paper is imported to Ukraine mainly from Scandinavian countries," the report says.

According to Yehor Kuznetsov, the chief technologist of the plant, the raw material is exclusively imported bleached pulp.

"The addition of any chemicals is strictly regulated by the state control authorities. Therefore, no bleaches, fillers, retainers, etc. are used in the production. Only fatty acid-based glue is included in the composition. Our products comply with food safety certification – ISO 22000," he notes.

The plant clarifies that the preparation for the manufacture of new products lasted about a year, consultations with Austrian partners were held, but for the first customers the results of the trial batch were satisfactory.
