By KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The mobile operator Kyivstar has created a subsidiary IT company Kyivstar.Tech.
According to the operator, the new company will focus on the development of advanced digital solutions for the operator’s customers, as well as for the external market.
"Joining this legal regime… Kyivstar.Tech will allow us to compete even better in the IT market, invest more effectively in the development of digital solutions for millions of customers and contribute to the transformation of Ukraine into the largest IT hub in Europe," Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov said.
The creation of an IT company is part of Kyivstar’s strategy to turn it into a digital operator.
The company’s priority is the digitalization of mobile and fixed services, as well as services for B2B clients.
Andriy Zhukovsky, who previously held the post of IT director of Kyivstar, has been appointed the head of Kyivstar.Tech. Mykhailo Nestor (formerly Director of Digital Product Development) became the Director of Digital Product Development.
According to the management, the status of a Diia.City resident will give Kyivstar.Tech a positive impact on the speed of launching new digital services and their quality, and will also allow the team to share expertise with other companies.
"Now Diia.City already has 400 residents. The space is developing despite the war, which means that today it really is a significant support for business. We are very pleased that telecom companies are also joining Diia.City," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said.
Kyivstar’s digital team consists of more than 400 specialists who have all the competencies to create, improve and promote digital solutions.
After the completion of the last organizational processes in early 2023, this team will continue to work on projects as part of Kyivstar.Tech.
The company also plans to significantly increase the number of Middle and Senior level IT specialists.
As reported, since 2019 Kyivstar has concentrated the development of digital products within the company.
