KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyivstar, a mobile network operator, has started using a new messaging technology in its network – Rich Communication Services (RCS) from Google.
As noted in the report of the operator on Wednesday, this is a new type of mailing, which, unlike conventional SMS message, provides more opportunities for businesses to provide information, attract customers and communicate with them directly.
The operator’s specialists, in cooperation with Google, have already completed the integration of the new technology and are ready to offer it to Ukrainian businesses.
"RCS messages bring the quality of interaction between a business and a client to a new level of interactivity. According to Google, brands using this technology are seeing a rapid increase in customer engagement compared to conventional channels. For example, the probability of an instant purchase in the RCS channel is 72% higher, familiarization with a 35 times more offer, and the reaction to it is twice as good as to the classic messages," Oleksandr Halushko, Head of B2O and VAS at Kyivstar, is quoted in the report.
Among the main advantages of the new type of messages: significantly larger text size; sending images, audio, video and other files; chat bots for instant communication with customers and feedback regarding products and services; carousel function to show several products in one message, convenient buttons to go to the site, QR; and brand analytics with read receipts and customer acquisition statistics.
Now this technology is supported by more than 5 million Android devices in the Kyivstar network, and their number is growing organically.
According to Google, more than 500 million people around the world have already switched from SMS to RCS chat with advanced features.
