KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Latvia will allocate EUR 50,000 for the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian aid program, which will continue to support Ukraine’s efforts to promote global food security.
According to the Latvian Foreign Ministry, on November 14, the country’s government decided to allocate EUR 50,000 from the Contingency Funds state budget program as a contribution to the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian aid program.
Ukraine established this program in 2022. Within its framework, 170,000 tonnes of grain have been supplied to four countries (Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen).
“With this contribution, Latvia supports both Ukraine and the countries to which Ukrainian grain will be supplied. Participation in solving problems of decisive importance for global partners also strengthens the international reputation and positive publicity of Latvia. This will be Latvia’s second contribution to Grain from Ukraine. In 2022, financial support in the amount of EUR 50,000 was also provided,” the statement said.
