Lemtrans opens terminal on border with Poland

KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Lemtrans together with partners (N’UNIT) has opened the Mostyska terminal on the border of Ukraine and Poland, the company reports on Facebook.

"Lemtrans, together with partners, this year has opened a terminal on the border of Ukraine and Poland. The task was to improve logistics and, in the future, increase the share of containerization of goods," Volodymyr Demenko, the CEO of Levada-Cargo, is quoted in the message.

According to him, the main problems in railway exports to Europe at present are the border crossing and the loading process itself. When crossing the border on the European side, one has to deal with lengthy clearance and procedures, so the simplification of the clearance process on both sides is required.

As reported, in March 2022, Lemtrans acquired a 70% stake in Mostysky Dry Port LLC, on the basis of which it created a railway logistics hub.

The project of a universal terminal was implemented on the territory of a former oil depot near the Mostyska-2 railway station (Lviv region), a few kilometers from the border of Ukraine and Poland. The terminal allows cargo carriers and shippers to transship containers from rail cars on 1,520 wide track to 1,435 wide track and vice versa.

The total investment in the project is more than $15 million.

Lemtrans is the largest private operator of railway rolling stock in Ukraine. The main activities of the company are the organization of transportation by its own rolling stock, the provision of transport and forwarding services, information support for the movement of goods, as well as the repair of rolling stock. SCM holds 100% of the charter capital of Lemtrans.
