Members of National Insurers Association extend powers of CEO Denys Yastreb, outline work plan for 2023

KYIV. Dec 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Association of Insurers of Ukraine at its general meeting extended the powers of CEO Denys Yastreb for a year, according to the union website.

In addition, the main directions of the association’s activities for the next year were determined. Among the priorities, in particular, are the improvement of taxation of insurance activities, including tax incentives for the development of voluntary medical insurance, the promotion of life insurance through the introduction of tax incentives, the reform of tax legislation to avoid double taxation and in connection with the transition to IFRS 17.

Among the priority tasks are the implementation of the law on insurance, updating the law on compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability, improving (simplifying) the implementation of financial monitoring, introducing the IFRS 17 standard, and promoting the digitalization of insurance activities.

Another of the activities for 2023 is the development of international relations, in particular, by becoming a member of international insurance organizations.

The National Association of Insurers of Ukraine was created by merging the Ukrainian Federation of Insurance, the National Association of Insurers of Ukraine, individual members of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine and insurers that did not previously participate in industry associations. On December 16, 2020, Yastreb was appointed general director of the association.

The association includes 27 insurance companies of Ukraine.
