KYIV. Dec 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Agricultural and industrial holding MHP, the largest producer of poultry in Ukraine, boosted production 9% month-on-month in November 2022 to 64,890 tonnes, while sales fell 2% to 60,690 tonnes, according to a report posted by the group on the London Stock Exchange.
Poultry production was down 1% year-on-year in November, while sales were up 1% year-on-year.
Poultry accounted for 63% of export sales in November, up 2 percentage points from October and 5 pp from November 2021. The company exported 38,390 tonnes of poultry in November, up 2% from October and 5% from November 2021.
Sales on the domestic market fell 10% month-on-month to 22,310 tonnes of chicken meat, but rose 12% compared to November of last year.
Average sale price fell 4% compared to October to $1.85 per kilogram compared to $1.75 per kilogram in November 2021.
Sales of processed meat products and convenience food fell 15% month-on-month and 44.5% year-on-year to 2,500 tonnes.
Sales of sunflower oil rose threefold month-on-month and 1.9-fold year-on-year to 51,190 tonnes, while sales of soybean oil fell 89% month-on-month and 64% year-on-year to 840 tonnes.
The harvest is being carried out over 335,000 hectares this season. The sunflower and soy harvests have been completed, while the corn harvest is 90% complete.
MHP produces poultry, grains, sunflower oil, and processed meat products. The founder and majority shareholder of MHP is Ukrainian businessman Yuriy Kosiuk.
