Ministry of Agrarian Policy approves 57 grants of UAH 277.2 mln for horticulture, greenhouses

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has so far issued 57 orders to provide grants to agricultural producers for planting orchards and building greenhouses totaling UAH 277.2 million.

As reported on the ministry’s website on Friday, the amount of grants for farmers varies from UAH 360,000 to UAH 10 million per recipient, the total area of future plantings and under greenhouses is 257.44 hectares.

The ministry also said that out of 57 grants, 52 totaling UAH 242.2 million will be directed to laying gardens, and five grants worth UAH 35 million will be issued for the construction of greenhouses. Farmers from Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Odesa and Vinnytsia regions became participants in projects to create greenhouses, their total area will be 8.9 hectares.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy recalled that on November 15, the Cabinet of Ministers made a number of clarifications to the procedure for providing grants for the creation or development of horticulture, growing berries and viticulture. In particular, from now on, grants are provided for the construction of modular greenhouses with an area of at least 0.4 ha and no more than 2.4 ha in accordance with the standard design and the number of new jobs created at least 14 per 1 ha of greenhouse area. Also, funds can be obtained for the purchase of means of production (planting material, seeds, basic equipment), covering the costs of their delivery and commissioning of a modular greenhouse.

At the same time, the maximum size of the grant has been set depending on the area of the modular greenhouse: for buildings with an area of 0.4-0.6 hectares, it should not exceed UAH 2 million, for structures with an area of 0.8-1.2 hectares no more than UAH 3.5 million, for 1.6-2.4 hectares no more than UAH 7 million.
