Miyamoto International at request of USAID to design new cargo terminals at Ukrainian border crossing points

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The engineering company Miyamoto International, as part of a USAID project to improve transport and logistics infrastructure and rehabilitate border crossing points (BCPs), will prepare documentation for the design of new cargo terminals at BCPs on the Ukrainian border.

“DAI Global LLC, the executor of the USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA), signed a subcontract with the engineering company Miyamoto International to improve transport and logistics infrastructure and rehabilitate border crossing points on the border of Ukraine,” the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development reported on Facebook.

As part of the signed subcontract, Miyamoto Ukraine will carry out a physical, economic and feasibility study, prepare preliminary documentation for the design of new cargo terminals at BCPs, and also provide post-design services at nine priority BCPs that will be improved within the framework of the USAID project, the agency said.

Miyamoto International has been operating in Ukraine since September 2022. In October, the company signed a memorandum with the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development. The company’s division in Ukraine employs 128 engineering specialists.

In 2023-2026, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide $115 million to support the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development, Ukrzaliznytsia, and the State Customs Service of Ukraine to modernize BCPs with Poland, Hungary, Romania, Moldova and Slovakia.
