By KYIV. Dec 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over 238,000 generators, transformers and electric batteries were imported into the zone of activity of the Kyiv customs without paying customs duties for the month of the preferential regime, according to a press release from the customs.
"In particular, legal entities imported 236,800 electric generators and appliances that provide alternative power in the event of power outage. Benefits amounted to more than UAH 571 million," the document says.
During this time, individuals imported 1,600 such devices on preferential terms. The amount of benefits provided is UAH 2.8 million.
The import of energy equipment on a preferential basis is carried out in accordance with the so called COVID resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers (No. 1260) dated November 9, 2022.
