KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Work is underway to restore the destroyed bridge across the Irpin river in Stoyanka (Kyiv region), which was destroyed on February 25 to prevent the advance of Russian troops.
According to Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko on his Telegram channel on Thursday, all work is proceeding according to the schedule, and the reopening of traffic on the restored bridge is already scheduled for May 29.
Tymoshenko notes that just five days after the de-occupation of Kyiv region, specialists installed a temporary bridge along the left passage of the highway in order to open the movement of heavy vehicles in the direction of Kyiv – Zhytomyr as soon as possible.
"As of today, two spans of the destroyed bridge have already been dismantled, monolithic foundations have been installed, temporary supports have been installed, and preparatory work is underway to install a monolithic slab. Subsequently, the top layer of asphalt concrete pavement will be installed," he wrote.
The Deputy Head of the President’s Office said that today he inspected the course of restoration work together with chairman of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Pavliuk and head of the humanitarian headquarters of Kyiv region Oleksiy Kuleba on behalf of the President of Ukraine.
