NBU's anti-bribery management system compliant with intl standard ISO 37001:2016

KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has obtained certification of compliance of the established anti-bribery management system with requirements of the international standard ISO 37001:2016, the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.

“It has crowned a successful external audit initiated by the NBU in early 2023,” the NBU said.

The auditors of PECB UKRAINE LLC (the official representative of MSECB MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INC.) conducted a certification audit in June-August 2023. Based on the audit results, the central office of MSECB MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INC. (Laval, Canada) made a final decision that the NBU’s anti-corruption management system operates in line with the requirements of the international standard ISO 37001:2016.

The NBU committed to annually confirm the obtained certification during a supervisory audit.

The National Bank recalled that the analysis of the NBU’s anti-bribery management system for compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 37001:2016 was initiated by the NBU in 2020 and carried out in 2021 using internal resources. The audit certification of the NBU was carried out with support from the USAID Financial Sector Reform (FSR) project.

ISO 37001:2016 was developed by ISO/TC 309 technical committee based upon the existing guidance from the International Chamber of Commerce, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Transparency International, and other organizations. ISO 37001:2016 was published for the first time by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on 15 October 2016.
