NEURC intends to raise water and sewerage tariffs in 2023

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NEURC) plans to raise tariffs for water and sewerage. The increase is expected to be implemented in two stages: from January 1 of 2023 and then from July 2023.

The relevant draft resolutions are published on the company’s website. They are scheduled to be considered at a meeting on December 27.

The increase in water tariffs by NEURC is motivated by several factors. Namely: a decrease in sales volumes, an increase in labor costs, an increase in depreciation, an increase in the cost of electricity.

Water tariffs in areas heavily affected by hostilities will not be reviewed. These are Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

At the end of July 2022, a moratorium (bill No. 7427) was adopted on raising prices for certain utilities until the end of the war and six months after the end of the war. The ban on price increases, in particular, applies to: gas distribution services; thermal energy – its production, transportation and supply; services for the supply of thermal energy and supply of hot water.
